Level 2 Axe in Grounded is an upgraded version of the regular weapon that you get in the game, and it requires you to get some pretty difficult parts. Specifically, among other things, you need to get a ladybug head to make your Grounded Tier 2 Axe, as well as bombardier beetle parts. These insects don’t come easy. So, in our Grounded Level 2 Axe – How to Get Tier 2 guide, we’re going to show you how to make the axe, where to find ladybugs and how to get their heads, as well as how to beat ladybugs.

Grounded How To Get Axe Tier 2

To get the Tier 2 Axe in Grounded, you have to defeat some of the bigger bugs; namely, bombardier beetles and ladybugs. None of these are easy to beat, so some strategy and clever thinking are going to be necessary. Also, lots and lots of cheesing. Incidentally, for tier 2 weapons in general, you’re going to need to cut down dandelions, and you only need a Tier 1 Axe for that. But, we’re going to be focusing on how to get the Grounded Level 2 Axe. For that, you’re going to need a Ladybug head, three Bombardier Parts, and Spider Silk.

Where to Find Ladybugs & Get Ladybug Head in Grounded

To find Ladybugs and get the Ladybug Head for your Grounded Level 2 Axe, there are several different places that you can look. They are a bit random, and don’t seem to have nests like some of the other insects. They apparently tend to appear a lot in the top of the map and around the big tree. There’s no real guarantee where exactly you’re going to find them, so keep looking.

When it comes to getting Ladybug Heads, they’re a random drop. What you get for beating the beasts differs from encounter to encounter, so there will be times when you won’t get what you need. That said, Ladybug Heads tend to drop relatively often, so I don’t think it’ll give you too much trouble.

How to Beat Ladybugs – Grounded Tier 2 Weapons – Axe

To beat Ladybugs in Grounded and obtain your Tier 2 Axe, there are several strategies that you can employ, and they work great for bombardier beetles, too. The first strategy is to climb up onto a leaf, or rock, or whatever gets you out of their reach. From there, hit them with arrows to make them angry. They’ll come right to you, so feel free to hit them with whatever you have handy until they drop.

The second method is to jump on top of a ladybug, and then draw aggro from another big bug, or spider. If you do everything properly, the other bug is going to attack the ladybug, and all that’s left for you to do is cleanup. You can do a similar maneuver with lures and the like; basically, whatever you can do to make bugs fight each other will be very useful in getting that Tier 2 Axe.

The third strategy you can employ is riskier. It revolves around sticking next to mushrooms and baiting the ladybug to smash into them. That gives you a window of opportunity to smack them and run back into hiding. The last method is to strafe around the enemy and keep hitting it, a la Dark Souls. It’s the riskiest method, but hey, you want that Level 2 Axe in Grounded.
