NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Bowery Presents’ PlayStation Theater, a 2,100-capacity concert hall in Manhattan’s Times Square, will shutter at the end of the year.

The news of the closure, first reported by Variety, was confirmed by the venue in a post to its social media, announcing that the Disco Biscuits will perform the final four shows at the theater in December.

The theater, which is situated in the building that houses Viacom, was formerly known as the Nokia Theater when it opened in 2005 and then the Best Buy Theater before it was renamed again as the Playstation Theater in 2015.

According to Variety, the venue is closing due to the expiration of its lease and likely due to competition from the similarly-sized Sony Hall, which is just a few blocks away.

Upcoming performances at the theater include Cyrpus Hill’s Haunted Hill, Alessia Cara, Craig Ferguson, and Max Richter.
